Now more than ever, it's crucial to maintain a somewhat regular schedule. Although recent news may have temporarily commanded your attention, now that you know what to do to protect your health, you can go back to planning your wedding with less apprehension. Having something positive to channel your energy into can help you get past the fear of the unknown and get a clearer glimpse of your future together with your spouse.

Plan Your Wedding Like a Pro

Planning a wedding takes work and commitment to pull off. Still, it's among the most gratifying feelings when you see everything fall into place like you expected it would. It gives you a sense of pride and relief, knowing that you did everything you could to create an extra special celebration for you, your soon-to-be spouse, family, and friends.

Here are some wedding tips to help you stay on track:
  • Whittle down the guest list. If restrictions limit how many people can be present in one location, who do you want to be celebrating with you? A friend of a friend of a friend who knows you or your significant other? Or, the people that you're the closest to IRL? Although it may feel more exciting to have a large wedding, it's often best to limit the number of people you invite to close family and friends.
  • Rally up the troops from a distance. Create a Facebook group where you can meet and discuss your plans. You can share ideas, resources, and responsibilities without coming into direct contact with one another. You can do everything together virtually. The beautiful thing about creating a group online is that people can contribute to the conversation whenever it's convenient for them to do so.
  • Order what you can online. With retailers shut down, it can be hard to shop in-person. That doesn't mean that you can't support area businesses by shopping online. Pick up your orders curbside or have them shipped to your home so that you have what you need to throw a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception.
  • Keep things simple. Some items may be hard to come by because of the high demand for them. Be flexible in your planning, and try to keep things as simple as possible. If you want to have an elegant theme, consider ways of simplifying it but still making it beautiful. You can have an outstanding wedding without it being over-the-top in price or appearance.
  • Choose a minimalist wedding menu. Substitutions may be required if there is a shortage of ingredients for the four-course meal you had initially planned to serve to guests. Instead, choose delicious menu items that are easy to acquire and prepare. That way, no one goes home hungry if the menu changes last minute. Limit the options to no more than two, along with a vegetarian option for the guests who don't eat meat.
  • Hire your photographer friend or family member for the day. Make sure they know that your plans can change within a moment's notice. Most will be flexible with the terms in which they shoot your wedding. They may even do it for you as a wedding gift which lowers your expenses, too. You'll know right away who out of your family and friends has the equipment, time, and experience to offer up their photography skills to you.
  • Come up with a Plan B if things change suddenly. A back-up plan is an absolute necessity for every couple. It allows you to maneuver sudden changes very quickly and still have a beautiful experience to show for it. When you come up with an emergency plan of action, consider a secondary place to get married if your first location doesn't work out for you. For example, you can move outdoor weddings indoors if they're on the grounds of a venue with ample guest seating.

Hacks help you save time, money, and energy while you plan your ceremony and reception. Refer to the list above often to keep yourself on track. Write out a timeline of events that need to take place by a specific date so that you have plenty of time to make changes to your plans if necessary.

Give Your Mind Something Fun and Productive to Do During Times of Change

Deciding all the details of your wedding can be a lot of fun. It can take the stress out of your daily routine by giving you something to look forward to doing with your partner, family, and best friends. To help you stay on track during times of uncertainty, we recommend following the wedding tips listed above. You'll find it much easier to carry out the plans you had for your special day when you remain focused on your wedding to-do checklist today.
